Recrystallization of Ti-Mo Base Beta Alloys

Abstract

For Ti-15Mo-5Zr beta alloy aged at 500°C, it was observed to be remarkable difference of ductility between the specimens solution treated at 825°C and 725°C. This is considered to be due to the different precipitating conditions appearing after ageing according to the solution treatment temperature, although any difference cannot be observed in the microstructures of solution treated specimens at 825°C and 725°C. The microstructure of the solution treated Ti-15Mo5Zr alloy at 725°C followed by ageing at 500°C, is inhomogeneous but that of the soluiton treated at 825°C and aged is perfectly recrystallized.
