Abstract

The Lynx multi-service helicopter, which is being jointly developed by Westland Helicopters Ltd. (W.H.L.) in the U.K., and Societe Nationale Industrielle Aérospatiale, (A.S.) in France, embodies, among many other advanced technology systems, a semirigid rotorhead and an electron beam welded transmission drive shaft in Ti-6A1-4V alloy.
