Abstract

In fiber/matrix composites (fmc), three types of failure occur:
  1. 1.

    Cohesive failure of the fiber

     
  2. 2.

    Cohesive failure of the matrix

     
  3. 3.

    Adhesive failure of the fiber/matrix interface.
