Theory of the “dU/dt EFFECT” in Thyristors

  • V. A. Kuz’min

A simple theory of the dU /dt effect is developed. The effect of the capacitative current reduces to an effect of equal gate current pulses in the two base regions. A calculation is carried out on the assumption that the shape of the capacitative current pulse is rectangular. The effect of an ideal rectangular voltage pulse on a thyristor is also considered.
