Casualties Based on Combat Values
This paper discusses an approach to generate casualties in war games by using a simple mathematical model. As it is impossible to reflect all factors influencing the outcome of a real battle in an algorithm, it seems acceptable to describe casualties resulting in a well-defined situation as a random variable which is defined by its type of distribution, its expectation and its standard-deviation.
