Superfluorescence: Maxwell-Bloch Equations, Mean-Field Approach and CS Experiment
Let us first summarize the predictions of Mean-Field Theory (MFT) [1,2] for a “pencil-shaped” atomic volume of length L, section A and Fresnel number f ≃ 1. There are three Superfluorescence (SF) regimes depending on the value of L/LC, where LC is the cooperation length  defined below.
