Picosecond Dephasing of Coherently Excited Vibrational Levels in Liquid N2/Ar Mixtures

Abstract

The molecular vibration of N2 is coherently excited by a single high power picosecond laser pulse via stimulated Raman scattering. With a second picosecond probe pulse the dephasing time is obtained from the intensity of the stimulated anti-Stokes Raman scattering as a function of the time delay between both laser pulses.
