High-Intensity Ionization Approximations: Test of Convergence in a One-Dimensional Model

Abstract

Two approaches have been proposed for the problem of atomic ionization by strong electromagnetic fields: one either uses high-order perturbation theory,1,2 or one tries to incorporate approximately the electromagnetic field to all orders, in the so called non-perturbative approximations.3,4
