Abstract

It is the responsibility of the Quartermaster Corps to provide Army personnel with clothing suitable for the accomplishment of each individual assigned duty. In support of the Army Ballistic Missile Program, a project was initiated in 1954 to develop clothing to protect liquid fuel handlers from the harmful effects of spills and to prevent the inhalation of toxic fumes. In order to meet the urgency of the requirement, work commenced at once on the design of a protective suit.
