Pumping by Gas Solidification—A Cryogenic Pump
Standard methods of pumping even a small mass flow down to very low pressures are extremely expensive in terms of capital cost. To meet the need in research and industry for an evacuating system of low cost capable of handling high mass flows, a pump working on a principle other than volumetric is required. The cryogenic pump, the pumping rate of which can be independent of pressure, is suitable for this role.
