Nucleate Boiling Heat-Transfer Data for Liquid Hydrogen at Standard and Zero Gravity
Knowledge of the nucleate boiling phenomenon in a zero-g environment for cryogenic liquids has recently become Important for application to space vehicles with long-coast periods. At the time this zero-g experimental test program was initiated, the amount of heat transfer data available in this field was extremely limited. Consequently, thermal design criteria, which are dependent upon this type of Information, had to be sufficiently broad to ensure reliable performance under a wide range of fluid properties.
