Liquid-Hydrogen Booster Pump for Aerospace Ground-Support Systems

Abstract

In rocket-propellant loadings there is currently little evidence of liquid-hydrogen pumping equipment in ground support systems. Unlike liquid oxygen, most liquid hydrogen is transferred from storage to propellant tank by means of pressurization. However, new requirements appear to be giving impetus to the consideration of booster pumps. This paper introduces a liquid-hydrogen transfer system based on the design and development of a dewar-mounted liquid-hydrogen booster pump.
