An Electrically Pumped Liquid Helium Transfer System
A liquid helium transfer system is described which is capable of maintaining continuous flow at rates as low as one liter per hour for periods up to several days. A superconducting liquid helium pump  and a liquid-level sensing system were also developed for use with this line to automatically maintain a fixed helium level in a cryostat. This system was designed for a cryogenic gyro application in which batch transfer of liquid helium could not be used due to resulting large thermal gradients which cause gyro Instrumentation difficulties.
