The Electrical and Optical Properties of Rapidly Exploded Wires

A series of experiments has been performed on exploding small wires in times less than 10−7 sec with peak specific power levels between 5 · 1012 and 2 · 1014 w/mol. The processes occurring in the wire prior to and during the explosion process have been studied.
