Fasting Serum Triglyceride and Cholesterol Levels During Oral Contraceptive Therapy

We have previously found elevated serum triglyceride, cholesterol, and low density and very low density lipoprotein levels in a cross-sectional study of 102 women receiving oral contraceptive therapy (1). While changes of serum triglyceride levels were marked, only slight elevations of serum cholesterol levels were observed.
