Abstract

Dr. Delassus was consulted by the parents and proposed a new operation. The upper half of the auricle was bent over on itself in such a way that the posterosuperior free helical border reached the tragus and covered the concha. The pinna was easily lifted but when released, fell back into its abnormal position. Also, since birth the helix was directed nearly horizontally forward, with a width of about 1.5 cm, then was reflected over itself at an acute angle and continued with the free border. The shape influenced the upper ear, changing its normal position. Cartilage elasticity at the angle of flexion made it impossible to keep a proper orientation.
