Development of the ears has to be considered as part of the whole pattern of growth. That growth is not perfect is evident from the fact that one side of the body is not the same as the other. Absolute symmetry does not exist. Acceptable asymmetry is what makes one side of the face different from the other but makes every individual recognizable. This is as true of the ears as elsewhere.
