Abstract

Priapism is a prolonged often painful erection that is not relieved by orgasm. It can be seen in all age groups, from newborns to the elderly. With the advent of intracavernosal pharmacotherapy, the incidence of priapism has been a more significant and common urologic emergency issue because delayed or inappropriate treatment may lead to irreversible penile functional loss.
