Abstract

The morbidity associated with penetrating parotid gland injury should not be overlooked. Sialoceles can lead to cutaneous fistula and cause troublesome constant salivary discharge. This rapidly leads to localised dermatitis and infection. Management can be difficult and may be medical, surgical and radiological. A combined approach may prove effective in more persistent cases. These techniques are described.
