Practice Standards and Test Selection
This chapter addresses three important areas of practice: test standards, ethics, and test selection. The first two topics are routinely considered in assessment texts but often not in a separate chapter so as to give them substantial emphasis. The issue of test selection is oft ignored. Intelligence tests are becoming available in numerous shapes, sizes, and varieties. The last section of this chapter suggests to the clinician a framework for selecting a test in order to maximize the effectiveness of a given evaluation.
