Abstract

The WJ-R Cog was published in 1989 as a revision to the 1977 edition. While this chapter focuses on the cognitive battery, the W-J actually represents one of the most comprehensive test batteries available for the clinical assessment of children and adolescents. The W-J Tests of Achievement have enjoyed considerable popularity since their original release, probably more so than the cognitive battery. The system also includes the W-J Scales oflndependent Behavior (SIB), an adaptive behavior scale, among other components.
