Abstract
Uterine compression suture is a simple and effective hemostatic procedure that requires no special skills. It can be performed in a primary medical institution even in cases which need to be transferred. The implementation of TAE and arterial ligation should be limited to cases with failure of local hemostatic procedures (e.g., balloon tamponade and compression suture) in consideration of their adverse effects. It is important that each institution has relevant protocols in place. Keep in mind that DIC treatment is the top priority while performing damage control, as described in Chapter 1.
