Abstract
The Indian aerospace industry has become one of the fastest growing aerospace markets in the world, primarily due to the increase in defence spending and a growing commercial aviation market. The rapid growth of this industry has attracted major global aerospace companies to India and has boosted the confidence of domestic aerospace players to increase and deepen their operations. India’s defence industry which has seen a steady growth in recent years, seems poised for even better days. Growth in domestic demand looks promising and the Government has a clear vision for an indigenous defence industry. The defence companies across the globe are increasingly looking at India as a lucrative sourcing hub in order to remain globally competitive. India has a tremendous potential for exporting engineering services and component manufacturing capacity in these sectors.
