Abstract
As mentioned at the beginning, the research study was conducted in the city of Balikpapan, in East Kalimantan Province. A brief description of the city of Balikpapan would be presented in this chapter to provide an illustration of the research location’s condition.

It should be noted that most of the 25-kilometer-long coastline in Balikpapan Municipality is within the areas of the sub-district of East Balikpapan (Riva’i 2006).

Penyambang is the local term/name given to the middlemen traders who buy fish from the fishermen in the middle of the sea.
- 3.
Some fishermen call them eastwind season.
