Chronicles of Stigma, Discrimination and Leadership Among the DNTs

Abstract

This chapter throws some light on the current scenario vis-à-vis stigma, discrimination and leadership among the de-notified communities. It is based on qualitative information collected in the form of interviews, focused group discussion and public meetings with the 14 selected de-notified communities in 11 districts from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In addition, inputs provided by the government officials, community leaders and lawyers groups about the problems of the tribes during the field survey have also been incorporated into the narrative.
