Abstract
This particular chapter talks about the awareness among parents. It examines the motivational levels, monitoring and support extended to their children by the community to do well in studies. Besides, child’s participation in domestic work, helping parents and parental aspirations about their children is also discussed. This chapter shows how children and their parents approach education, since most of the sample communities lead a semi-nomadic to a nomadic life. Their livelihood and economic activities involve moving from one village to another, and it has an impact on children’s education from primary levels to higher education. Further, it offers insights on the interests of children of de-notified tribes in studies and the aspirations and expectations of their parents from them.
