Abstract

The anatomical knowledge of the lymph node location and the lymphatics is very important. The entire cancer surgery is based on the lymph nodes draining the affected part. The lymph node clearance has a huge impact on the entire overall survival. Hence the knowledge of lymphatics and lymph nodes and pattern of spread of cancers is important. The pattern of spread is related to the anatomy and there are some general rules for the lymphatic drainage in the entire body (Fig. 10.1).
