Spatial Turn of Network Information Consumption and Its Social Risks: Case Study of “the Sale of Baidu Hemophilia Post Bar”

Abstract

This chapter analyzes “the sale of Baidu Hemophilia Post Bar” incident and points out the spatial turn of network information consumption as well as its social risks. With further development of the Internet age, the network space of consumption significance is constantly produced during the information consumption of the Internet people, and the network space consumption has become an important part of network consumption. Corresponding to the publicity of the network space, the network space consumption also bears the publicity value. However, due to the economic dimensions of the network space, the network space consumption also hides the potential consumption risks in terms of the information and publicity, mainly embodied in the information disclosure in the network space, the deprivation of the right to not know, the commercialization of public information and the dissolution of network communities.
