Abstract

The need for hard cash as a medium of exchange has been on the decline thanks to innovations such as traveler’s check and most importantly the plastic currency of debit and credit cards which are ubiquitous today. Recent disruptions in the field like—mobile wallets, Internet banking, and cryptocurrencies—are further bringing in sweeping changes which are redefining how people use their hard-earned money.
