Abstract
The investigation on the electrical trees characteristics in_unfilled cross-linked polyethyline (XLPE)_and XLPE containing treated ZnO nanofillers has been carried out. The characteristics of electrical trees in treated XLPE/ZnO nanocomposites were compared with the unfilled one. The ZnO nanofiller was treated with Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (KH550). Variation on the concentration of ZnO nanofiller in XLPE was carried out from 0.5 wt% to 1.5 wt%. The result reveals that the treated nanofillers in XLPE composite did not improve the compare with the unfilled one. However, the addition of 0.5 and 1 wt% of treated ZnO nanofiller have improved 8.57 and 14.29% electrical tree growth, respectively in comparison to the unfilled one.
