Abstract

The axillary endoscopic subglandular tunneling approach (AESTA) is a basic technique for performing dual plane type II and type III augmentation using an endoscope through the axilla. The principal method involves separation the parenchyma - which is located at the front of the pectoralis major muscle - from the pectoralis major muscle. To perform parenchyma-muscle separation at the lower pole, a 2 cm wide tunnel from the axilla to the nipple level is made at the suprapectoral space, and an endoscope is inserted through the tunnel that separates the parenchyma from the muscle. This method is technically more difficult, however an appropriate method to perform on those patients who do not want the inframammary fold incision.
