Abstract
In this chapter, Hannam and Harvey explore the aural qualities of the urban environment as experienced by people with vision impairment as they consider the body-in-motion in relation to sound, focussing attention to body–sound interactions within the physical environment, and the tensions created when listening is prioritised over other sensory modes. In doing so, Hannam and Harvey think through the implications of movement and sensing for creative sound practitioners looking to step beyond the technologies of sound and acoustic materials and into the diverse urban milieu of sonic and social interactions.
