Abstract
Technical advancements have rapidly increased the population in urban areas. People residing in urban areas are scheduled with regular activities. The time-spend for managing the household cleanliness and garbage disposal on daily basis incurs extra overhead. A key challenge is to provide a proper garbage disposal for houses. In the present scenario, residents have to carefully monitor the garbage bins each day and dispose it when it is full. So, the problem is overflowing of garbage results in bad odour at home and surroundings. This limitation can be addressed by replacing the garbage bins with smart bins and connecting them to a cloud server. The processing entity in the cloud server further runs a shortest path route optimization algorithm and presents the shortest path for every 24 h basis. The employee can utilize this information for the collection of garbage from houses. The prototype of the proposed method of garbage collection is developed.
