Abstract
Injuries have been long perceived as unavoidable happening or accidents which are thus unpredictable and unpreventable. A scientific and logically based approach to prevention has evolved only on later part of the nineteenth century which signifies that injury events can be studied, understood and prevented and therefore are not inevitable as commonly suggested.
