Abstract
Hemi-Fontan operation or its modified form, as same as the bidirectional Glenn shunt, is another option of choice to be intermedia operation to complete ultimate total cavopulmonary Fontan connection with intra-atrial lateral tunnel. It is more appropriate for patients with pulmonary artery insufficiency or stenosis. Hemi-Fontan surgery is designed to facilitate to perform intracardiac lateral tunnel total Fontan surgery by removing the separating patch used for closing the superior vane cave and right atrium connection.
