Abstract

Chapter 6 “Western Folklore” was written by Chen Hao and translated by Zhou Jinhua. This chapter first elaborates Western folklore in terms of wedding and funeral customs, food folklore, traditional festivals, beliefs and taboos; then it turns to some details of folklore in specific areas, namely, folk cultures and features of folklore in major European and American countries.
