Abstract
South Turgay Basin is a Mesozoic strike-slip rift at the south margin of Kazakhstan plate. According to the stratigraphic–tectonic marker series of this basin, its tectonic evolution can be divided into four apparent stages: rift development stage, rift-depression transition stage, depression development stage, and later uplifting stage. From current seismic data, we found three periods of strike-slip inversions (J2 end, J3 end, and K2) and summarized three types of strike-slip inverted faults (high-intensity inversion at K2 end, moderate-intensity inversion type at J2 end, and weak inversion at J3 end). Each type of fault structures has apparent features on plane and profile. Accordingly, these inverted structures have different controlling effects on hydrocarbon accumulation, leading to apparent differences in hydrocarbon enrichment and distribution on plane and profile.
