Abstract
As the largest gas production unit and the key of the West–East natural gas transmission project, these years Changqing gas field is facing greater challenges and difficulties for the sharp increase of the gas consumption. Especially, every winter when peaking gas supply is needed, selected wells have to tap their potential to meet the requirement. The typical tight sandstone gas reservoir Sulige gas field plays a crucial role in the peak gas supply in winter. For the use of the down hole choke (DHC), the device should be removed before the wellhead heating equipment is installed. Due to the severe heterogeneity and huge difference in production, it is vital to select wells and predict their behavior at first. A rapid gas rate forecasting method for wells with DHC is introduced in this article by contrasting the gas rate and the casing pressure drop rate around the peak gas supply period for wells with long production history, and by analyzing the relationship between AOF and proration of newly developed wells. Field application in S1 block of Sulige gas field shows this method yields high accuracy and meets field’s requirement.
