Abstract
Thoracic trauma accounts for 20–25% of all trauma-related deaths [1, 2]. Prompt assessment and immediate treatment can reduce the mortality rate. Initial evaluation and treatment of the patient include the primary survey, resuscitation, a detailed secondary survey, and definitive treatments. Most treatments are available without surgery if implemented quickly. Therefore, the clinicians should be well informed of assessment and treatment in advance for prompt and accurate management.
