Abstract
Maternal fever in pregnancy and labor room is not uncommon, can be of serious consequence to two patients, mother and fetus, and needs systematic evaluation and prompt treatment. Appropriate investigations are guided by clinical history and examination, and symptomatic relief should be offered by antipyretics while trying to localize the cause. Risk factors for sepsis need for surgical intervention and fetal well-being are other considerations to guide the management. Treatment of the cause, if identified, and planning of the delivery are important decisions which need to be taken keeping in mind the clinical scenario.
