Summary

Four cellular antigenic factors, Ch1, Ch2, Ch3 and Ch4, classified by isoimmune antisera were shown to be genetically controlled by independent dominant genes. A serum beta-globulin of the goat was identified as transferrin by labelling with Fe59. The serum transferrin was classified into three phenotypes genetically controlled by two autosomal alleles, TfI and TfII. And also, serum albumin of goats divided into three phenotypes, A1 AA, A1 BB and A1 AB, with different mobilities in agar gel electrophoresis, was shown to be genetically controlled by two autosomal alleles, A1A and A1B.

Two isozymes, Apf and Aps of alkaline phosphatase were recognized in sera of goats. The Apf zone is genetically controlled by the genes Apf and Ap0, Apf being dominant to Ap0. Aps zone is transferred to the kid by the milk of the dam. The sera of goats were classified into two groups; the Apf group having the Apf zone and ApO group not having the Apf zone.

Large differences in frequencies of cellular antigens, serum transferrin types, serum albumin types and serum alkaline phosphatase types were observed among breeds of goats.
