Abstract

A modified imide process for making Si3N4 powders and whiskers is developed. Thermal decomposition of Si(NH)2 under H2 or N2 atmosphere at different tempertures and the characteristics of Si3N4 powders are investigated with DTA, XRD. SEM and XPS analysis.
