Abstract
Cordierite monolithic structures as catalyst supports for the filtration of exhaust are going to be extensively used in order to control automotive gas emission. For this reason it is important to define the thermo-mechanical behaviour of such a component, especially in the presence of pollutants like those present in the exhausted gases. Young’s modulus, flexural strength and thermal expansion coefficient have been measured in virgin, polluted and thermal aged cordierite samples.
