Theoretical Methods

  • Chapter
Book cover Polymers at Interfaces

Abstract

The task of polymer adsorption theory is to provide a description of polymer concentrations and, if possible, conformations in the interfacial region. In the last few decades, several attempts have been made to attack this difficult problem. Each of them has its own limitations, but gradually the methods have become more sophisticated and powerful. We shall try to give the reader some insight into the evolution of the theory and into the relation between the various approaches.
