Abstract
Surface coatings for the mass-production automotive industry are undergoing very significant evolutionary changes because of the influence of energy conservation, environmental controls and consumerism. Thus, in a rather conservative industry where the costs and stakes are very high, there is real incentive to accept and invest in new products and processes that would make the painting of a motor car more economical and effective.
