Abstract
The thyroid may influence, to different degrees, the development of acute inflammatory reactions, as produced by carrageenin injection, and interferes with the chronic inflammatory process, like the cotton pellet induced granuloma in the rat1. In addition, treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents resulted in a significantly modified response to the pharmacological effect of these drugs of hyper- and hypothyroid rats as compared to euthyroid rats.
