Abstract

The mechanism of the formation of the hard spectrum of active galactic nuclei due to the conversion of the energy of charged particles accelerated up to ultrarelativistic velocity is considered. In the presence of magnetic field charged particles produce photons, which in their tern create high-energy e± pairs. Multiple interactions of pairs with magnetic field and photons, and photon-photon interactions lead to cascade increase of the number of e± particles and may result in a large ratio of thus produced rest mass of e± pairs to incoming energy and in the relaxation of photon spectra to some specific shape with a cutoff near 1 MeV and a power — law slope at energies less than 30 KeV. The confrontations of the simulation and observational data are given.
