Abstract
A domestic automaton is the penultimate robot. This is a robot not just in service, but in personal service. Its impact depends upon the sophistication of the execution. A household robot must be able to handle a range of personal services if it is truly to relieve its owner of dull, routine, time-consuming, distasteful, and potentially health-threatening tasks. It should be the reincarnation of the slave in a time of enlightenment regarding human bondage.
