Abstract
Advanced materials research plays a central role in the development of new technologies. The performance, profitability and acceptance ofindustrial products and systems today depend greatly on the materials used. Materials research can provide new solutions capable of optimising the application of various current technologies, developing new technologies, reducing harmful emissions and evening out production costs.
