Samenvatting

Een 26-jarige volleybalster krijgt pijn aan de voorzijde van de knie tijdens het sporten. Anterieure kniepijn bij sportende volwassenen wordt meestal veroorzaakt door een patellofemoraal probleem of door een tendinose van de kniepees. Het laatste wordt ook wel jumpers knee genoemd. Een patellapeestendinose kan in tegenstelling tot tendinose op andere locaties op vrij jonge leeftijd voorkomen. Het hoofdstuk beschrijft de casus, symptomen, de differentiaaldiagnostiek en ten slotte de behandeling. Een belangrijk deel van de behandeling bestaat uit oefentherapie. Drie typen oefentherapeutische programma’s worden beschreven.
